Why I Created Math in Reach

When my kindergartner told me he didn't like math, I knew something needed to change.

I've worked in schools for over a decade — nine years as a teacher and two as an assistant principal — but I still couldn't find any at home materials that were hands-on, low-prep, and truly grounded in how early math sticks.

I currently work at a math tutoring nonprofit, where I design training for tutors and help shape the curriculum they use every day. So I took what I know works — for kids and for grownups — and built it into something families can use at home.

Math in Reach is for real life: thoughtful support, simple materials, and math you can actually enjoy.
